Western Canada

Welcome to the new regional Canadian subforum. Let me be the first to welcome everyone to the western Canada region. If anyone has anything to ask, planning a meet, or has input specifically geared towards western Canada Azine members, then please feel free to post.

I see that eastern Canada is already ahead of us by three posts. I find this disturbing.

I think we need to organize for an Edmonton meet in June. I see some nice TLs around the city.
I saw a sexy dropped, kitted EBP type-s riding on some nice 19s the other day on whyte. I want to know who that is.

Anyway, I think we need to get on it and organize a wicked TL meet soon.

I just came back from the West side and I must say it's much nicer than the east.

Even Edmonton was pretty cool...

You guys have it lucky with the mountains so close by.

I'll go back to the east board now...

I will be moving to Calgary from Winnipeg. Anyone know if there are enough Azine members in Calgary to do any meets? I do notice a few Edmonton members, though.

Sounds good. I will be in Calgary this weekend to buy a house. I won't move until end of July. How long have you been in Calgary? Any advises about driving over there that might be considered quirky? I've heard about bad traffic and long commute time. Bad driving can't get any worse than 'peg drivers with using no signals and going at whatever speed they want to go.

Let's hook up once I am settled in Calgary.

Just got back from Calgary and we drove mostly on Deerfoot and Glenmore trails. Deerfoot was not bad during rush hours as we were only going 25km/h at best for 45 minutes. Glenmore was good. Mostly nice roads, most drivers used turn signals, people merged nicely. One thing I didn't like was having snow and hail on the weekend as we took a quick trip to Banff.

Wow, you had good luck then (other than the bad weather in Banff)...!

Oh by the way my RL is documented in the RL "pics" section. It was put together by another acurazine member, "Touge". He did an amazing job and I'm lucky/ happy to have his baby up in Edmonton.

Ya, that's what I like about the RL, simple mods like some rims, lowering springs, and lip kit and it's gorgeous. I will definitely get one in the future!

NEED HELP
I have brought Touge's RL up and have the out of country inspection but have been denied my out of Province since it has a non-factory suspension. WTF, lol. I guess our province is blind to all the locally modified cars and trucks and seems to only be concerned with the mos from out of province. Wish they could make laws that make sense. So, now that I have ranted. Does anyone know a shop that has a mechanic that can tell the difference between a $3000 dollar suspension and a kid with a torch that has hacked his suspension?

I've gotten Alberta Auto Inspections to come out for my cars, but I doubt he does OOP inspections (I've only had to do in-province).

You might want to post up on 780Tuners.com or beyond.ca.

Ouch. I agree with sap, definitely check with 780tuners.com or Beyond.ca, I'm sure someone will know an answer for you. Chances are someone has gone through that same process. Let us know how it works out!

i'll check in the OOP handbook i have at work. They do have some pretty intense rules in there and i'm not too sure if coilovers are ruled out or not.most mechanics will stick to the book cause their OOP licence is on the line.and i belive you only have a certain number of days to "fix" the supposed problems and return for a re-inspection.
