Looking at buying a 2000 TL with 110k running the original timing belt. Any shops other than Acura dealers that you can recommend? Car looks in pretty nice shape and engine runs quiet. Anything special I should also be looking at? thanks

There's a shop that I have been to once. I had my brakes + rotors ordered online and installed at a shop. The shop name is Hu's Garage. It's run by owner + son, and the owner was a Certified Honda Tech (he has certificates on the wall of his shop), but if I remember, I think the certificates are issued in the mid 90's.

They did pretty good work (well I guess brakes were easy). I'm not sure if they do larger work like timing belts though. You can give it a try if you like. I like them because they have lots of Honda fluid, so they use original stuff. You can maybe buy parts and get it installed there. Their labor rate is quite reasonable.

you should get them to check out the tranny too. I hear those 5 speed autos are a nightmare in these cars. I have a 99 4speed and 190km and no problems but those 5 speeds are shit.
