Hey guys, so myself and a few others were thinking we should have a meet with all the Calgary guys and all the Edmonton guys this summer! Other than thoughts that it should be on a sunny weekend and probably around red deer or sylvan lake we haven't gotten much further than that. So I made this thread so we can discuss dates, length, location and participation. I'd like to get it to be as big as possible because I have a couple buddies who participate in some of the VW meets around AB and they are ridiculous for something organized on a forum.
My thoughts would be to meet somewhere out in sylvan for a Saturday. Have a cruise up take lots of pictures and get a chance to meet some of the people that drive the cars that we follow on this site! Earlier in the summer would be better because who knows maybe it turns out to be so much fun we do it twice (or more but let's not get carried away quite yet lol).
So I guess a good place to start would be with a list! User name, your location and anything else you may want to add.

Oh and before I forget Rocketright had mentioned that because driven isn't coming to Calgary this year that apparently some guy is hosting a big meet in it's place, I've asked him to keep us updated or something because honestly the bigger the better, and if we can have a decent acurazine presence at a big meet that would be pretty awesome as well!

Sylvan lake will be a good place, but then we have to be there early because the place is free for all.

Nersh7, I have been at a few of those VW meets with my buddy and they are awesome. There was about 60 cars from Edmonton cruising together. And about the same from Calgary. Then meet up in sylvan. Some guys made the drive from Sask even.

I'd be down. It all depends on my work schedule though. I'm not sure if I'll be working weekends or not.
Sylvan Lake is a good place but can be a gong show when you arrive a bit late in the day lol.

depending on the weekend I may go out and stay for a weekend so I can grab a spot early, maybe not though I don't want to miss a good cruise!

Ya that seems to be what I've heard from some friends. I had one guy make a drive out to BC last year for a meet. I think that would be interesting because of the size of the acura guys out in Vancouver.

Of course depending on work schedules and stuff, I'd hate to pick a weekend were half the people couldnt make it lol.

okkkk guys lets make this happen... 2nd weekend of july, 9th or 10th.. lets pick one of those days.. most of the Edm guys are down, now its up to the calg guys to commit! its over a month away, well enough time to get the day off.. sooooooooo????? we'll do the meet at sylvan, do a nice bbq and spend a few hours there and then go for a nice cruise! it'll be nice to meet the calg guy's see something different maybe? and pleaseeeeee bring some TSX guys!!! haha im the only one on the edm thread!

This weekend will probably be to soon for most members, or at least it is for me haha.
How about at the end of the month, Sunday the 31st. I'm not to familar with sylvan lake so I don't know where we could meet but I'm sure someone on here does.

I have no clue, I'm not familar with sylvan at all so if you have a spot that would be good just let us know. Also try and get ahold of as many people as possible from your side of the pond.
Let me know how it turns out for you.
