Zaino Z6 & Ron Jon Legend Wheels

Hey all,

Question: Can you safely use Zaino Z6 on liquid graphite RJ Legends? If yes, is it a waste to do so? Any insight is appreciated.

Brother, I spoke to Sal Zaino himself. He told me to put Z6 on everything-even the wheels. Maybe call Rondy, just to make sure.

I don't see why it wouldn't be safe to use on wheels .. they, in most cases, are clear coated like your paint is.

One thing I wouldn't do , and I wouldn't do it on my paint either . is use it to remove dust etc. Your wheels are the closest thing to the crud on the road and most likely to pick up stuff you will grind into the finish.

I don't think you'll get the protection you're looking for with the Z-6 though. IIRC it's just a gloss enhancer, no? I actually did Z-2 and that seemed to make the wheels much easier to clean for quite a while.

Z-2 is an actual sealant that requires dry time. Z-6 is the equivelent of a quick detailer really. ggesq, if you want to repel dirt and stuff Z-2 or even z-5 are good products. You just need to make sure the wheels are really clean, and I mean REALLY clean. Z-6 would be fine for the face of the rims to keep them nice and shiny between washings, but it won't last long.

Just as long as you stay away from carnuba products, you'll be fine other wise it'll melt and then all the dirt will embed itself into it.

Actually there is nothing left of carnuba to "melt" once it has been applied and flashed ( dried ) and buffed... What happens with carnuba is it breaks down when exposed to sufficient heat .. 140 F or so .. where sealants are good for a lot more.

Out of curiosity, in general how much dry time does Z2 need?

Like most sealants it drys very quickly .. but of not used with ZFX it takes 24 hours to properly cure.
