The weather was nice this weekend so I decided to start off the new year with a couple of layers of Zaino on my TSX. Washed with Dawn, clay barred, cleaned once again and applied two layers of Z2+ZFX.

Just amazing how easy it was to apply the two layers. I actually spent more time clay barring ... quite therapeutic. There was so much crap on my car.

Anyway, I plan on adding another couple a layers in the near future. Does anyone know if I have to clay bar again? Or should I just wash, dry and Zaino (Z2+ZFX)?

 

 

Just a suggestion, use a 50/50 mix of alcohol and water next time instead of Dawn. Its been suggested on here before and it works quite well. And it wont dry out any of the rubber parts like Dawn will. Just wear a rubber glove when you do it, otherwise it will dry out your hand.

I Zaino every six months, and I clay along with it. Not sure if you need to do it within any less time then that. Matter of fact, my clay wasnt that dirty when I did it 6 months apart.

 

Just curious but if it dries out your hand why won't it dry out the rubber parts?

You will not need to clay bar again for another 12-18 months. I asked Sal Zaino the same question a few years back when I started using Zaino. By the way, did you use Z2 or the new Z2 Pro. I guess Z2 Pro is the replacement for the old Z2. I heard that Z2 Pro is much better than the old Z2. I need to use up my old Z2. Please post some pics if you get a chance.

 

Too late. There was a lot of condensation on the car last night and our cat was slipping and sliding on the trunk, rear window and hood. The cutest shit ever.

Dang....I can't remember if mine was Z2 or Pro. I bought it about a month ago and was waiting for the weather to get warmer. Looks good either way though.

Not that I mind being unique in the neighborhood but I love this stuff and I was a diehard Mequirs guy.
