Whats the difference?
Im trying to do the Meg's 3 step process where you use a 1. Paint Cleaner, 2. Polish and 3. Carnauba wax. I realized I have the wrong product for #1 but is there any difference between these products?

Paint Cleaner is a non abrasive. chemical cleaner.
Cleaner/Wax is a light abrasive cleaner, nuba protectant.
SwirlX is a mystery to me as it claims to be non abrasive yet is also claims light swirl removal. Must be pad dependent.
All three have their place in detailing, paint cleaner could be used on severly oxidized surfaces prior to polishing with an abrasive polish. Cleaner/Wax could be used as a cheap all for one, quick cleaning and minimal protection. Best suited on surfaces which are in very good shape to begin with.

The only time I ever had any luck removing swirls with any of those even using them with a PC is if the swirling was in the oxidized layer of the clear which the cleaner removed.
If you do a RA wipe after the first pass ( be it by hand or PC ) and inspect then do a second pass and look at it again .. then do another RA wipe and you will see that there is a lot of filling going on and little or no removal.
The removal claim to me is mostly fillers & oils .. evident when you do an RA wipedown.

I wouldnt say my car is in severe shape but it could use some help. From my understanding the paint cleaner is suppose to help me remove swirls and my car sure has a bunch of them. Well....all the auto stores are out of the Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner so im gonna substitute the swirl X and see how that works with the polish and the nuba wax. I'll try to post pics of b4, during and after for you guys to see. By the way, this will probably take me hours since im applying everything by hand.

Rubbing Alcohol ... its used to remove any oils from polishing and its a good thing to use to see if the work you just did and are so proud of is actually removing the swirling or just covering it up.
Unfortunatly unless its polished out 98% of the time its fillers doing the job and after a couple of washes they are gone and your back to square one.
