What to use to clean winshield wipers?

I feel like an idiot, but I've just figured out that my windshield wipers work a whole lot better when the rubber gets cleaned! They quit bumping around and leaving streaks The tech at the dealer suggested using plain old rubbing alcohol, and it seems to make a huge difference. The damn things (stock wiper replacements) work a whole lot better when I clean them every week. Anybody else have any wisdom on this: Is there something better to use? Thanks

I just take a rag and wipe them off, alcohol would work though
