This is what happens when....

The owner tells me he wants to learn how to polish paint lol
Car was in overall good condition, there were a few nicks here and there, but nothing major. The fact that it's silver made it extremely pleasant to polish.

Before:

During:

The owner working hard here

After:

Light color cars CAN have nice reflections too!

What swirls/scratches? lol

I told him about it.......
My logic behind it was if he didn't make the mistake and mess up the trim, he's not going to remember (or know) why the trims has to be taped off. So I stood there while he buffed over all the trims lol.

For me, it's easier to teach someone a lesson AFTER they've messed it up, that way they'll remember NOT to do that again in a long time.

I also gave him a list of things to buy so he can maintain the car himself.

I don't know if my logic make any sense to you or anyone else here, but it sure makes sense to me lol.

I would have told him to tape it off. Now he has to go back and fix it. Its a PITA to get all that white stuff out from between the cracks. But your a good guy for teaching him.

I did tell him about taping off. but without seeing the horrible results of not taping off, i doubt that he's going to remember it.
so he learned a hard lesson that he is going to remember for a very long time

Good way to teach, just a little cruel unless you're going to go back there and clean it off yourself..which I doubt you are haha. But polishing is definitely some damn hard manual labor..my hands nearly fell off after I did it once.
