What detergent to use for microfibers?
1. What detergents are safe for microfibers?
2. Not only does it have to be safe, which is safe AND effective in removing dirt and grimes from the microfiber products
3. I have Cheer Colorguard, is that atleast above average on safe cleaning for microfibers?
4. If I don't want to hand wash, would it also be OK to throw the microfiber products into the washing machine and use the SAME detergent as I would if I do hand wash them?
Thank you in advance

I've never tried using regular washing detergents before, so can't really comment about Cheer or the like, but you should be fine with that. Just make sure it doesn't have any bleach (deteriorates the microfibers) or a fabric softener (reduces its absorbency).
I'm currently using a product called microfiber rejuvenator.... seems to work fine so far. I soak them first, then wash by hand, and then hang to dry.
If you're gonna stick with Cheer, just make sure you don't use too much detergent. I'd say use no more than half of what you'd normally use for that load size because if you use too much the detergent will make the towels stiff.
If they do get stiff, re-wash in hot water and distilled vinegar.
If you're looking for something different, try Woolite.
Regarding washing machine.... Yes, you'll be fine.

I use Blue Dawn on the warm/cool cycle ... Also the liquid detergents that are the no fragrance / no dye ones work well too.
Never wash them with any other fabrics.
I hang mine to dry and fold every one of them that way I get to inspect both sides for anything imbedded in them.

I've used Tide Clear and Free detergent which is free of dyes, perfumes, and fabric softener. It seems to work well. I've heard some use baby detergent as it's supposed to be gentle on fabrics.

Nothing "special" is ever required to clean your microfibers. You can use the detergent you currently have at home provided it does not contain bleach (which most companies use a color safe bleach, which is ok), or fabric softener, (which is a water repellant). Treat the MF's as you would any article of clothing, wash in warm water (minimum), dry on low heat in dryer (remove before completely dry to avoid static build), or hang dry.
Another good alternative soap is
"Our Laundry Powder is a revolutionary approach to laundry care. It does not cover up stains and odors with scents and brighteners - it really cleans. It is made with a unique blend of biodegradable coconut-based detergents and high-grade, completely soluble, Green River washing soda."

I've been washing my MF towels and my lambswool wash mitt with Liquid Tide either by hand or on the gentle cycle in the washing machine (Cold water for both wash and rinse cycle). I do NOT use fabric softener. Is this okay or should I get a different detergent?

I meant liquid fabric softener, like Downy. I never use those sheets, even when I wash my regular laundry. Even then I always dry my MF towels and washmitt by hanging them over the banister.
