Waxing WDP TL?

I bought the car recently, and just with a car wash it looks shiny and clean. I'm planning on to wax the car soon myself, but anyone out there with same paint, does the car look much cleaner with wax? or look pretty much the same?

The key to making WDP look good is

1) Clay bar it
2) Polish out the imperfections and oxidization
3) Use a a good sealant on it like 4Star UPP .. The reason I say sealant is because a sealant has more of a generic candy gloss where a carnuba is warmer & deeper.
4) Make everything else on the car especially the tires and windows look black and perfect.

As with anything the key is in the prep... if you have no PC you should clay and use a good cleaner like Meguiars ColorX and then the sealant .

To get the glass feel you need to do the above and yes the sealant is a protectant like wax but lasts a lot longer and gives the more glass shine.

Dale, does ColorX use abrasives as a cleaner or is it non abrasive? Why not DG 105?

ColorX seems non abrasive .. only used it by hand .. seems to clean a little better than 105 but 105 would be great as a sealant behind it.

How often would you wax? I've read 3-4 times a year, but i really like the feel of a smooth car. Would once a month be overdoing it?

Nope. Wax only lasts between 30 and 45 days anyway so once a month isn't overkill. If you love a slick car, I'd suggest a sealant over wax. It's slicker and lasts longer.

Thanks for the tip I'm about to start using sealant.
