Waxing advice (need help)
Hey guys,
I really need some help. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, but I've been using the Duragloss all in one from Patrick over at Exceldetail.com. Anyway's, after about 2 car washes, my paint is no longer slick anymore. I know that wax/sealants break down, but it seems like after I wash my car a couple of times, it has completely lost it's "slickness". Is there something that I should be doing? How can you truly tell if the wax is still protecting the paint? Any advice/tips would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Jeff

a method that helps to tell how much wax is left, protecting the paint is the water test. Put some water on the car and see if it beads up, smaller, uniform beads mean wax is there, no beads means no wax. This is sort of a method, but not a real one as cleansed, good paint will bead up water as well

What is the number of the Duragloss?
Slick is over rated and nothing really to do with protection. Nore does the beading with a sealant.
A lot of sealants will bead very well for the first bit then move into a sheeting phase where the water will sheet off the car.
Zaino and Klasse are good examples of that and both have exceptional life.
Meguars #21 on the other hand I have seen bead 4 months later .. but none feel slick that long. Loss of slick only means the oils etc in the formulation of the product for ease of application have migrated out.
Carnubas on the other hand when the beading is gone most of the protection has too.
What washing/drying methods do you use? Products?
