wash routine

ok, so two weeks ago i did the whole wash, clay, zaino. the car looks sweeeeet

i work out in the desert. lots of sand/dirt/etc. so in about 4 days i get a nice coat of brown on the car. do i just wash it or should i be washing and z-2'ing every other weekend? or is z2 pro was supposed to be a "once every 6 month thing" like wax?

i do like the suggestion in another thread about putting carnuba on top of zaino. there is a bit of a plastic look to it right now.

anyways, thanks in advance.

Since you already have a coat of Z2 Pro, you don't need to put another coat unless you want more shine. The first coat you put on should last about 6 months. What you can do to keep the shine up would be to use a quick detailer after you wash your car. Personally, I like Z8 but you could use other products. I've used a carnauba wax on top of Zaino before and it looks fantastic. The only downside is that you can't put another layer of Zaino on top of the carnauba wax as it won't bond.

Due to the melting point of Carnauba wax in a desert environment you'll find you won't have to wait long before its dissapated and you can add a polymer (Zaino)

Fracture/evaporation temperatures (Melting points)- Polymers 350oF+, Silicone oil 350oF, Mineral oils 200oF, Synthetic blends (wax / polymers) 200oF, Carnauba wax 180oF, and Bee’s wax 130oF, in actual practice the high temperatures frequently encountered by vehicles from the radiation causes wax compounds to melt, for example, a painted surfaces exposed to ambient temperatures of 85oF in direct sunlight, will obtain a temperature of 195 degrees or more
