Under the hood
What should I use in the engine compartment to clean all the plastic covering. I would like it to look like new, not sure if armor all is good in this application because of the heat in this area.
I use an APC like Awesome to clean it up. Apply it to a cold/cool engine and agitate then rinse. I will use a leaf blower to pre dry the a cloth to finish it off.
The Armoral type dressings work fine. Matter of fact as an experiment I used the Dollar Tree tire dressing on my Civic plastic etc close to a mont ago and it is holding up just fine and collects dust less than the "name" brands.

I keep mine relatively clean but the first time I thoroughly cleaned the plastic under the hood I sprayed it down with some APC, agitated with several brushes, rinsed off and dried with a metro blaster and microfiber towels. I then used Sonus trim and motor kote to protect it and give it a satin dark finish. I would stay away from using armorall. From my experience, it leaves the area greasy which will attract dust. If armorall is the best you can do the. Make sure to wipe off any excess with microfiber towels.
