UDM Standard Pad Question

Question UDM Standard Pad Question

I just got my UDM in the mail yesterday!!

Anyway, the pad it comes with - do you guys use it at all? If so, what for? Is it equivilant to a CCS white polishing pad?

Otherwise, I was just thinking of keeping it as the dry pad to use underneath my microfiber buffing bonnet.

The supplied White pad that the UDM comes with is for LIGHT LIGHT swirl removal / light polishing. It really doesnt do much imo.

You need to get Orange for sure (best for all around), and Yellow is the next step up to tackle more difficult jobs.

Application of sealants you want to stick with Red or Blue(not 100% sure on this one)

Oh in addition, i'd suggest using the Orange + mf bonnet, the orange is way stiffer and i think does a better job in buffing off the residue from polishes / waxes etc.

Thanks lusid. I was also going to ask if I could use it on my TL when I polish it. The paint is in great shape (I just bought it about 2.5 months ago), but I need to get it ready for winter. It doesn't really need any agressive polishing, so I thought it might be a good pad to use for this, then finish up with the blue pad for the sealant layers.

White is good for non evasive polishing. Then use the blue or red for sealants.........
