my friend wants to use my udm to do his black is 350, which has a ton of swirl marks on it, but he has a piece of clear bra on the hood....can we go right over it with pads and polish, or should we tape it off and avoid it....

 

All I have read says you can use a PC and a light polish but if your unsure and its not all hazy I'd tape it off.

 

Definetely tape the edges......
