TSX and S100

Got a PC a couple of months ago, its been great. Makes things a lot eaiser.

Anyhow, im in between Zaino applications right now, so I wanted to try a can of S100. Pretty impressed with it. I had been using Meg's Gold Class for a while and I think the S100 applies a lot better then the Megs. Also no chaulk.

I used the Sonus blue pad, followed by a MF bonnet, and followed that with a lambswool pad.

Here are a few pics...Hardly any clouds out. I think I need to park under/near some trees next time:

Just curious, why did you use a wool pad? Completely unnecessary, and those are generaly used for cutting if i'm not mistaken

Ah crap, I guess I didnt read the instructions on it. Well, it didnt look like it hurt anything. I'll have to remember that next time

Here is the text of that bonnet:

For extra cushion beneath your bonnet, layer it with the lamb’s wool pad (which also has abrasive polishing characteristics, when used alone). Buffing is gentler and easier with the additional padding it affords. The lamb’s wool pad allows for even distribution of pressure against the surface, makes edges and curved areas turn out much better, and prevents the bonnet from tearing. You’ll notice how much smoother the machine seems to operate. It’s not, actually, the friction is enhanced because the ultra-soft lambs wool is so forgiving when uneven pressure is applied. This is a safety feature for anyone, but can be especially important to the novice. You’ll get a perfect finish every single time.

okay, so you put the MF bonnet on top of the lambs wool. That's a good call, I thought you just used the Wool pad

So I have a lambs wool wash mitten. Is this the same thing, and if so, should it ditch it?!?

Lamb's wool mit = good for washing. In fact, I have two. I cycle a new one in about once a year or year and a half.

When the new one is put in service, the old one becomes the "10 inch mit". The new one washes most of the car down to approx. 10" from the bottom. Then, I switch to the older mit to do the lower part where there is more of a chance of picking up hard particles, brake/rail dust, etc. I don't want to get sharp particles on the same mit that I use on the top parts of the car.

I don't use either for the wheels. I use a soft brush/sponge and a gizmo that reaches to get the back of the wheel.

Note that I have a black TL and you all know what a bitch that is to keep scratch-free.

BTW, that car looks really nice. Tight.

I was going to ask about the wool pad, but CLpower beat me to it. I use mine like the orange pad for some cutting action with the PC. I have only used it on my BMW, which is red. It brought the color out great. Then, of course, I went to the white, and then grey.

PC's rock!

Hey, thanks for the comps guys...My TSX looks like a 4x4 there I need to get some pics of it again now that its lowered...

You know, I bought a sheep skin wash mit a while back. It only lasted me about 5 washes before the fur just started falling apart on it. Autogeek.net sent me a new one, but that one is now starting to fall apart as well.

Think I'll go with lambs wool next time...Any suggestions on where to buy?

Nice! Thanks for the tips. I bought my mitten at WalMart (of all places) and I'm of course a skeptic about any thing I buy there.

Keeping a black car CLEAN is a big enough task alone...keeping it scratch free is a whole other monster. I've owned FOUR black cars....but not much looks hotter when they're all polished up!
