Treating/Preserving moonroof rubber trim

I'm curious what you all are using to treat and preserve the rubber trim around the moonroof... Mine is definitely starting to lose some of its luster. I've been using a light silicon paste rubbed into the rubber to treat it, and while it has done a real good job of preserving the softness of the rubber trim, it's messy to work with. (I also use this silicon paste for the rubber trim on the tops of the doors, and it does a great job of keeping a nice deep black and keeps the rubber nicely preserved, but it also tends to collect dust). What do you all recommend for this? Has anyone ever tried the Zaino tire dressing for the moonroof trim, since it's rubber, I was thinking it might be a good treatment for it, but I haven't actually tried it yet. Any suggestions? Also, whatever you do recommend, do you use it just for the top surface of the moonroof trim (i.e. the hard rubber trim) or also for the soft rubber trim on the sides that's exposed when you raise the moonroof? Thanks.
