touch up paint dries clear?

I am having some problems with my touch-up paint. A couple of weeks ago some car in the parking lot scratched car and chipped some paint. Unfortunately, I wasn't there to witness the incident and the person just ran away. Anyways, yesterday I tried to apply some touch up paint to that spot. That spot is black for some odd reason (I've been told its black primer underneath the paint?). So when I was applying the touch up paint I noticed that I had to apply a pretty thick layer in order mask the black primer. So now, after it has dried, it turns out kind of clear? I have a pearl white TSX. Do I need to apply more layers of the touch-up paint? or apply white primer before i do the touch up?

THanks

Shaking up the paint is the key to a better touch up, and making sure the applicator has new shaken up paint on it.

I did shake it, I shook the bottle for a long time too. This is always the result no matter how long I shake it.

Also, I find that the touch up paint is kind of rubbery when it dries, is this becuase it is not fully dried yet? or have i put too many coats of the touch up paint on?

And can anyone recommend a good way to take off the old touch up paint i put on? Becuase it is a pretty big spot and some of the touch up paint got onto the normal paint and it is really hard to take off.

Sorry for all the q's..

hey this happened to me as well. Some asshole scratched my car and left huge scratches, and i had to use touch up paint on it. (by the way i have pearl white as well). Here's what you do; first you apply the white paint on the areas, and wait about 30 min - 1 hour for it to dry. Then you apply gasoline(car fuel you get from gas stations) onto a piece of paper towel, and just rub onto the area where you applied paint. Trust me, this will make your car look like you never got scretches.
