total noob here need help

hey guys i have a ABP 03 TLS, and i was thinking of getting it detailed professionally. but then i decided to go and do it my self. the paint is in pretty good condition however it has swirl marks and some fine scratches. i want to remove the swirl marks and bring out the color. from what i know most people on here are doing something like this:

wash with dish soap
clay bar (mothers)
some type of scratch remover
then wax????

if you guys could let me know what products are good and what will have the best outcome. also i own this random orbial polisher thing its nothing special made by Simoniz.
