Which Tire product do you guys use for giving it a wet shine?

Blackmagic is another really good one. It also depends on whether you use tire gel, tire gloss, or tire wax.. some people aren't aware that there are different types. One of the sites that I check frequently is http://tiregel.com
They have some articles about it and also have some good deals on the stuff.

Any of the tire foams will initially look good but your masking the dirt and brake dust on the tires. Eventually it will still produce a shine but the tires will be brownish.
Clear dressings tend to contain silicones and not dry on the tire thus slinging occures.
The white dressings are more water based and will dry and have less of a tendency to sling.
What I use is Whesleys Bleech Wite to clean the tires ( I had shiney brown tires ) and I only use it occasionally, and I dress them with a water born dressing ... lots of them out there.
One I have really turned a liking to is Optimums Tire Gel .. it goes a long way and really last more then 1 or 2 washes .. more like 5 or 6.

I can agree with you on that one.. I have been using Eagle One Tire Shine and sling occurs almost everytime. I've been looking for a good tire shine that doesn't really produce a wet look, but more towards a freshly purchased tire. Anyone try this?

+1 for Armorall extreme shine tire gel.
This picture was from a couple weeks ago but after a good amount of rain, the tires still have a semi-gloss black look.
I really like the soft/hard foam applicator it comes with. My only gripe is that it does fling a bit even after sitting overnight. Not too big of a concern since it just ends up in the wheel wells/mud/splash guards and not on the body.
I think for a less high gloss shine, you can wipe the tire down with a rag afterwards to remove some shine.

I use the Meguiar's Gold Class gel. Comes with an applicator (well, the package that I bought). Lasts quite a long time and I like the 'wet' appearance it provides... but that's just me.

with the armoral extreme gel, it comes with a foam app with a groove in the middle...you fill the groove with a bead of gel and wipe it on the tire...at first the stuff looks ok, but after a few minutes the stuff starts to set up and looks amazing...it will last atleast a week if not more...i usually wash my car every monday, and all i do is dry the tires off with an old towel and they look like they just had the gel applied...its good stuff, you wont be dissapointed...

Oh I get an easy two weeks.......Give them a real good cleaning before using any tire treatment for the first time. You will actually find endurance improves with use, once the oils establish themself in the rubber.

Vinni-thanks for your input too. When I got the Megs spray, I also got a foam applicator and used it instead of a rag. It seems to go on easy and I go the applicator for just a dollar at the auto parts store.

Excel, without sounding uneducated, the 2 products you spoke about-do you use them together or either/or?

If you're really curious, you could always experiment and make a mixture of dressings on your own to achieve the look you're going for. I haven't had my hand in that sort of thing yet but perhaps soon when the fall semester is over.

Solvent-based silicone dressings - Dimethalsilicone (DMS) usually a clear greasy liquid, which leaves a never-dry gloss film, most contain petroleum distillate solvents. Silicone is inert, it’s the solvent that damages the rubber, as it acts as a cleaning agent, as a result, the tyre begins to crack and rot.
The difference between water and solvent based is in the carrier system used. Solvent based products use a hydrocarbon silicone to suspend the product. When you apply it, the solvent evaporates leaving the dressing's active ingredients (silicone oil) behind; this type of silicone leaves a high gloss shine and will repel water longer but it is non-biodegradable. Most high gloss products are based upon Dimethalsilicone (DMS)

I like the stoner more shine/less time for an over the counter product...but I hate when I use an aerosol if there is any hint of wind...makes specs all over on my NBP TL and have to wipe the wheels after or else brake dust sticks to it. I have a local detail product shop that makes there own stuff (waxes, soaps, tire shine, etc.)and distribute from water based to silicone based, and the silicone holds up longer but attracts the dirt and hard to wash off(brown after a while). I find some simple green mixed with some dawn dish soap cleans that off pretty good and cuts the brown "coating" off leaving a flat black rubber for a new coat of shine.
