Tip for Paint chips
Tip for Paint chips
Ever triied to use the Honad-Acura touch up paint to fix a chip?
Ever make a mess worse then the chip?
I tried a new way of doing this last week on the TSX.
Instead of using the POS bottle brush; I got a very small model car brush from a hobby shop. This works awesome!
I had 2 small chips on the rear bumper....the touch up went so well the wife couldn't find them and she knew about where they were.
The brush can sometimes get ruined by the auto paint drying, but I get the brushes at a hobby shop for 3 bucks. I figure this is a cheap inexpense way to hit a bunch of nasty chips in one day and make them go away....and not look like crap.

Correct, I just use the bottle of Honda-Acura paint you can get at the dealer.
It works the best IMO for paint color match vs. autoparts store.

I think I have to give something like the above a try on my SSM ... I have some ugly scrapes on my rear bumped and a nice deep chip on the hood that I would like to make go away
The other thing that I heard works well is a toothpick ...

The toothpick sucks, learned that on the Accord. The brush is the answer to the toothpick.

So with the Acura paint ... how is the clearcoat part done?

I like it because, 1 it's Honda OE and 2 some dealers give it our free.
yep - I plan to ask for a free little bottle of it ... then it's off to the hobby store to try to cover up some uglies. The ones on my bumped just bum me out every time I see them ... time for some fix up
