Think Your Leather is Clean?
I bet you're wrong!
When I bought my Santa Fe in October, the only Limited model on the lot was Pacific Blue with the Beige Leather. I would have taken the blue if it had the Cocoa Black interior but with only 100 miles, that beige was already showing transfer from people's jeans sliding in and out. I figured that if it looked that way at only 100 miles, it would look like crap by 10,000 and I wanted to drive the thing rather than spend all my time trying to keep the seats clean. The deal was made and it was traded for my Harbor Gray with Cocoa Black Leather.
I recently put in a small detailing order that included a leather and vinyl scrub brush. After washing the car this morning, I decided to give it a shot and break it in on my driver's seat. This is how it looked after working on just the center portion of the driver's bottom cushion! It made the leather look brand-new with that matte look and also worked wonders on the vinyl wings and door panels.
I used it with Lexol leather cleaner and can vouch that the two together are powerhouse combination. I can't wait to try it on the RL with Leatherique come summertime.

Ask and ye shall receive. Sorry for the shitty camera phone pictures....my digital camera is hiding from me somewhere in the house and is refusing to be found. As soon as I find it (or a suitable substitute), I'll replace these pics.
Those butt-cheek ripples are a common Santa Fe occurrence and are really the only indication that these aren't brand new seats.

You sure the butt-cheek ripples aren't from... well, your butt?
Looks great though, I've been using Lexol with an MF towel, and I can't get that sudsy action. Does it foam at all using the brush?

Great detective work, Sherlock.
But in answer to your question, yes...it foams up like an S.O.B. and I'm convinced that's why I had such great luck with it as opposed to just wiping it with an MF or terry towel. When you use the brush, you agitate the dirt in the natural pores of the leather and bring it to the surface whereas with the towels, you just kind of wipe it around.

Two questions...
Where did you procure the brush from?
Is there any chance the residue we see on the bristles is actually dye form the leather seats? I am not suggesting you are not cleaning the seats, but is there any chance the visual indicator we are seeing is actually leather dye?

Answer Two: The camera didn't capture it very well but the color it was pulling up was definitely blue, not the brownish-black of the seat. This is not surprising as I almost always wear jeans when I go out...unless it's summertime then I'm in shorts. I did a test section of the passenger seat and didn't get up much of anything.

Nice work..I might just have to spend for one of those things before this summer.. I am scared I buy this brush and when I'm done it will be so black and dirty I might have to throw it away...
I am sure my seats have never been touched in over 5 years... eeeehhhhhwww

Oh yeah....I found my camera so here are the better pics. The flash reveals just how many different shades of brown make up this interior. Thankfully under normal light, they all look the same.

Detailed Image. Actually if you click the 'I got it here' in my original post, it will take you right to the product page.
I don't have any before pics....sorry. But yes, it should help restore your seats to more of a matte, factory look.

Well I let the oil sit on there for 24 hours...Then used the cleaner and let it sit for 6 hours...They felt so damn soft...So I put the Zaino conidtioner on there and they felt perfect and smelled great...The Leatheriquestuff smells HORRIBLE...Like pesticide bad...BUt after dried there is no smell...The Zaino smells great and between the 3 products I feel the seats are top notch...They are softer then before and so much better looking...This was a 40K mile car at that...
