Swirled up s2000

My friend just bought this s2000, it is a 2001 with 18k miles. Engine and interior are in great condition, but the outside was swirled pretty badly. I have been reading alot of threads here about swirl removal, so I figured I would post this.

Meguiar's Suds Wash
Mother's Clay
SSR 2.5 via Orange Propel Polishing Pad
P21S Paintwork Cleansing Lotion via Green Propel Polishing Pad
Wolfgang Sealant

Before

After SSR2.5

After P21S and Wolfgang

Man, that was BAD before.....looks much better now, still looks like the hine is a little dull though. Maybe it's just me, but it does look much much better.

Yeah it was pretty bad. Actually, the shine isn't dull at all, since it was dark outside, some of the final product shots are blurry.

That's a big improvement. Looks great.

How did it get so bad to begin with, from just automatic car washes?

Great work! Looks like your friend doesn't really take care of his paint. Really like that side panel shot, I was like...where's the car!?

He used a PC as you can see in one of the pictures and what he wrote up top.

VTEC11 & VB87 - Not sure how it all happened, he bought the car used and that is how it came. I suspect both automatic carwashes and/or dirty mitts might have done it. Another theory of ours was that someone hand washed the car and didn't take of their rings.

Savio - I do everything via porter cable, it would either be impossible or too much work to get the swirls out by hand. As far as OTC products go, get yourself some Mother's Power Polish (stage 1 & stage 2). It can be found at Pep Boys and from what I hear it is pretty good. If you insist on working by hand, try Meguiar's ScratchX. To tell you the truth, invest $120 and get a porter cable, it pays for itself.

Nice work ..... this is a true testiment to what one motivated individual with a Porter Cable can accomplish!
