Does it currently have the original paint? If so, I would be very reluctant to re-paint. Check out some of the before/afters of posters here like Excel Detail , Jesstzn, Hawhyen51, Deep Gloss and many others. It is amazing, and I am sure less expensive than re-painting.

I have the same problem as you, and have been researching paint restoration on here as an alternative, I have a body guy that will give me a deal, but after reading countless threads by the guys mentioned above, your paint can most likely be saved as long as the swirls/scratches don't hit down to metal. I would consider restoring it first, if you're talking about paying someone to restore it, vs paint it, the cost difference alone makes it worth a shot.

Unless the finish is filled with huge scratches that are down to the metal, you definitely want to get the finish restored as opposed to repainting. It costs a lot less (assuming a quality paint job), and you will be amazed on what can be done.

Look at this link to see what kind of transformation black paint can go through: https://acurazine.com/forums/wash-wax-23/hammered-05-mustang-reconditioned-tsc17-688354/

It varies a bit from each area, but you could expect to pay $300~$500 for a restoration job like that for a quality detailer. If somebody quotes you $100~$150 for a full correction job, do not take that bid!! Chances are you'll be going to the higher cost detailer afterwards to properly fix it.

My .02 worth.

TSC couldn't have said it any better.

If I were in the CT area, I would offer to help you out, hehe.
