Suggestions on using Touch-Up Paint?

The rock misses my clear bra and hits the SIDE of the car, what luck?!?! Pretty noticeable chip.

I can't find the Mother's Paint Chip repair in my area, which seems like the BEST thing out right now.

I used a needle, not a nice as I thought it would be.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

Forget the needle...

Get the factory touchup stuff (YMMV), or try link above (paintscrach.com) for paint info based on VIN coding. The top link contains info on what in general to do for weenie work. I don’t know how you feel about 1500- to 2000-grit sanding blocks.

I haven't tried the paint pens, but....

IMO, if you are doing scratches, a toothpick works better.

If you are doing chips, a very small artists brush works good. You might have to cut the brush hairs down to get better control.

Finally, try heading to www.autopia.org for more.

If in doubt, try the stuff in some place WAY UNDER the car to test your skills first -- OK?

The touch-up paint kit is ALWAYS hard to apply to make it look good. The problem is that most of the areas we are touching up is very small. The paint is very thick and difficult to spread it evenly. Usually after you did it, you find that the area is even more noticeable than before. My suggestion is if your scratches are very small, you are better off just to leave it alone. Been there and did it a few times.
