Storing auto care stuff in winter
Storing auto care stuff in winter
I have a file cabinet out in my garage where I keep all my auto care products (Menzerna, Zaino, Turtle wax, etc). With this cold weather should it be brought into the house? Will freezing temperatures hurt or degrade any of them? Gonna be like 3-4 degrees @ night the next few days.....but my garage should only be about 20-30 degrees.
Ideally, you want to keep products from vast shifting in temperatures. Some respond "ok", some dont. If you can, store them in a cardboard box inside somewhere. Hey some even smell good enough for air fresheners!
exceldetail - excellent post
I 'd like to add some general notes-
Storage Temperature (Car Care Product):
Car care products should not be stored at temperatures below 40, if they freeze they may become unstable and therefore unusable, at the other end of the temperature scale polymers or synthetics should not be subjected to high storage temperatures as this will cause the ingredients to separate (you may be able to recover the (liquid contents) my re-mixing (shaken but not stirred) the ideal storage temperature range- 50- 75oF Do not subject products to heat swings (hot and then cold storage) cycle as this will make them unusable.
