Steam Cleaning
Let's say you have a car that hasn't had a deep cleaning in, oh, let's say forever! (Not my car BTW!!
) I am looking for an affordable, quality way to shampoo/steam clean the carpets in this car. The owner works around construction sites and therefore has a lot of ground in dirt and mud. Is there such a product out there that is both affordable, and quality? I don't do detailing for a living so I don't need nor do I want to spend a lot on something, but I want something that actually works.
Thanks for you help in advance!!!

Well, if you want to do it right, you really need a carpet extractor to get the job done. Interior carpets are tough to detail with household products. I really would suggest hiring a pro. They will have the equipment to get it done properly.
Many people as well as myself has had great experience with Bissell Little Green Clean Machine (LGCM) w/ the heat feature.
It's ranges about $80-100 and definitely worth the money. It's not a steam machine per se, but it is a miniature carpet extractor.
A basic guide to cleaning the interiors like carpet:
-spray on spot cleaner on more soiled areas
-use some type of detergent/apc diluted to scrub carpets
-extract with the LGCM with HOT water until clean.
Many have had great experiences with this machine. Something you could look into.
