Spring cleaning

so I received my Poorboys order the other day and started on the car tonight after work. All of the winter crap was starting to make her really look a bit untidy. I first went to the local "good" car wash..(since I was going to buff it out anyway), took her home and hand washed the rest with a microfiber wash glove. Broke out the trusty Sears polisher and started with SSR2. My, what a difference just that made! I did the entire car with the SSR2 and then started with the SSR1 (polishing). The SSR1 made her look like "black glass"! I got the hood, roof, trunk, passenger side and back done before MY back told me to call it quits for the night! I have to say, the SSR1 is a bit more difficult to rub off than the SSR2 was. Im using microfiber polishing towels by the way. All of the swirl marks, those oddball marks that just wont go away regardless of what you do....are now gone! Going to finish the drivers side tomorrow and then do the entire Zaino route. She is looking really good....except for the tires...going to have to bleche white those and dress them....then the damn windows....and the interior......(sigh). A car nuts work is NEVER done! I'll try to post some pics when Im done. About 4 hours work already in.

Indy, Im a Porter Cable/Four Star man myself, and am wondering, what type of pads or bonnets are you using with the craftsman? Ive been using a PC for so long, I dont think i would recognize a pad or bonnet if it wasnt meant for a PC.

Hi Excel....well, actually, I have a PC due to be here Monday. My Sonus pad set arrived yesterday. I just couldnt wait and wanted to do the car today. The Sears I have is about 20 years old or so but works fine. Biggest drawback to it is its size (11"). The bonnets I used are a porous foam and seemed to have worked just fine. I just finished the car about an hour ago. Did it as listed above followed by a coat of Zaino polish lok, a coat of Zaino Z2 (set an hour and a half) and topped off with a coat of Zaino Z5. Car looks like a black mirror now! I have some pics and am going to try to post them on here...keep an eye out!

See if this link works. Pix are very high res (taken with an 8mp Nikon) so dialup's beware! By the way, still have the stocker wheels and tires on, going to put the SSR's back on in a couple of weeks.
