Take it to a glass shop. What did you wash it with? In close to 50 years I have never scratched a window washing it .

okay so how exactly did i scratch my windows....? i went to a self car wash and washed my car. it was looking really good. i gave it a nice wipe down with my waffle weave towel. I decided to drive across the street to the gas station so I can wipe my window down with the squeegee. Guess what they didn't have one. So i used the paper towel to wipe it down and i noticed it was working really well! I got rid of the streaks and my windows were looking flawless. I decided to do all 4 windows and no kidding it was looking good. Then I sat inside and i saw a shitload of scratches everywhere on my windows. Never ever use paper towel to wipe down your windows. Now I don't know how i'm going to take them out. I tried using toothpaste because I heard that works, but nope, nothing. It looks like I'm screwd unless I get new windows. The back aren't too bad I just don't like the fronts because the scratches are like 4 vertical lines on each window. And if i do get new windows I have to also get tints..so yeahh..

^That sucks! I have scratched my windshield with a gas station squeegee, and it sucks.

So you have Tints?

Or Window Tint?

Paper towel wont scratch windows ... matter of fact the WW towel you have is prolly the best for drying windows. Why didn't you use that? Either your car wasn't clean when you finished or the trip across the street got crud on the car and you rubbed it in.

Biggest possibility is you used the brush at the car wash and it had dirt in it and it either scratched it there or left it behind.

People don't realize that the rinse at those car washes because its high pressure doesn't remove debris like proper gentle flooding will and it gets left behind to be rubbed into the paint.

The vertical lines in the fronts are you talking about the door windows? If so most the time the scratches like that are from the windows rolling up and down and there is dirt between the glass and the rubber that sits on the glass at the top of the door.

Hate to say it but your story isn't making a lot of sense. JMTC

Sounds like the scratches are being caused from the material that lines the top edge of the inner door panel. When the window goes up, the tint rubs against that material and creates vertical scratches, like you mentioned.

no it was from the cheap paper towel at the gas station. I was wiping the window down very very hard and the window wasn't even wet. I did this to get rid of the streaks and it looks like it was working really good and im 99% sure it was from the way I was forcefully wiping the window. Anyway, I've gotten used to it, and I really can't do anything at this point. But for all you people, just don't wipe down a dry window with cheap paper towel. Instead use newspaper to get rid of the streaks.

Did you check to make sure the scratches aren't really on the tint?
Can you feel the scratches on the glass?
I cannot imagine how paper towels could cause scratches in glass.

Paper towel or newspaper wont scratch glass , glass is way to hard ... What has done it is grit under the towel from not rinsing well enough or dust picked up driving to the gas station .. What isn't adding up is the need to remove streaks if he dried the window with his waffle weave towel. My towels dry streak free.
