Scratch Question

Hello all,

I noticed a good 8 inch scratch on the bottom of my 07 CGP TSX's door today. Anyway's, I searched quite a bit, and I came across a thread stating that Quix is the best scratch remover out there. How easy is this to use? If my scratch isn't too deep (I can't catch it with my finger nail), will I need to use the sand paper? Do you just rub it on like you would Meguiars Scratch out? I did try using both Kit's Scratch out and Meguiars Scratch X stuff, but neither one of them removed the scratch.

I do have a PC, so I was thinking about giving that a shot tom. What kind of a polish would I want to remove this?

Also, where can I purchase Quix at? Is this available at Autozone?

Thanks much,

Jeff

You should be able to find Quixx at Wal-Mart, Advance Auto Parts, Autozone, O’Reilley’s, Murray’s, Pep-Boys....etc.

If your nail doesn't get caught in the scratch, then the sand paper won't be necessary.

Pics of the scratch?

Ok, so I have the Quixx Scratch remover a shot. It did a decent job. Here's my current situation:

Prior to using the Quixx, the scratch was white. I strated out by using the finish stuff. That really didn't do anything. So, I then used the #1 Polish, followed up by the #2 Finish. Now the scratch is gone, however, if you really look closely at the paint, you can see where teh scratch was. It's almost like there is a faint outline of the scratch, but instead of being white, it now matches the car's color. How do I totally remove the scratch?

Any tips would be helpful!

Thanks,

Jeff

Thanks,

By polishing you have rounded over the scratch edges .. scratches are "V" shaped. To get it to completely go away you need to polish the surrounding clear down below the level of the scratch.

If its not that noticable I'd leave it now .. Unless its pointed out to me would I see it if I was just looking at your car?
