Scratch - help

Yesterday on my drive home.....something fell off a truck (round like a rock) and started bouncing its way towards my TSX. Of course it hit the passenger side and made a 6 inch scratch or scrape.

Before taking it to a body shop, what steps should I take to see if I can get it out? Use some wax and try to see if it will come off?

many thanks!

Mothers or Megs scratch remover may be a good start. Unless you want to get busy with a PC.....

Is the scratch through the paint or is it only on the surface? If its all the way to metal then your options are to have it repainted or to touch it up and wet sand. I would not try the latter unless you are skilled. Try to locating some local detailers in your area. They will let you know right away if they can fix it. Pics of the area is also recommended if you want a more accurate assessment.
