Safe to use razor blade on windshield?

I need to remove a sticker. Is it ok to use a razor blade? There's no coating or anything that I'll ruin, right? (It's not tinted or anything... just the standard windshield). Thanks.

i imagine you could scratch the glass...you might want to try using a plastic razor blade first. peeling off the sticker and then using Goo Gone would also be a safe option.

I use a blade to get stickers (registration, etc.) off of my windshield all the time. Just be careful. You have a better chance of hurting yourself than the car. Just a note, stay away from any trim, etc.

if you have a heat gun or a hair dryer, it also helps a little to put a little bit of heat to the sticker to soften up the glue... then the blade will easily get it off, just work slow... and some goo gone or windex afterwards to get off the residue and you are set...

To remove the sticky backing left from taking my "Dial 1-800-OMGurgonnaDIE! for roadside assistance" sticker off my new TL's driver side window, I took a cue from what someone else said in a previous thread: Peanut butter worked great. A little bit of pb on a towel, scrubed a bit, then followed with Invisible Glass and a paper towel. Did the same with the remnants of my temporary college parking permit. You'd never know the sticker had been there.

What kind of sticker?

Peanut butter?

PB?? That's hilarious, but worth a try.

It's just one of those dumb DMV registration stickers. Similar to the roadside assistance one.
