I have a couple of rock chips on my car, with a new one on the hood. I have used touch up paint on a few of them in the past. Just using the touch up paint, well the results have been less than ideal. What is the best way to take care of these?

Touch up paint, wet sand, rubbing compound and then polish?

Just want to do it right and have no real idea how to go about it.
