Rock chip on headlight >>

I discovered a small rock chip on one of my headlights today (07 TSX). Is there anything that I should do/put on this? My main concern is not the appearance of the rock chip, but rather the possibility of rain getting into my headlight fixture. I'm not sure if Rock chips will cause this to happen, but I thought I'd see what some other opinions on this are.

Thanks,
Jeff

I don't know if this will help, but I have a headlight protection kit similar to this on my 04 TL. It's made of impact resistance PVC vinyl film. It's clear, will not alter the appearance and you don't even know it's on there. Cheap investment vs purchasing a new headlight assembly.

You should be able to fill it. Call one of those places that treat auto glass, heck your insurance may even do it for free

Can I use Scratch OUT (little yellow bottle) to try and buff out some surface scratches on my headlights? I'm guessing that these scratches came from when I dried the car, but I'm not sure...

You can try to buff it out but most likely not going to do anything unless you wet sand it. I really don't recommend sanding at all. I had a extra headlight with the big rock chips on it and decided to test out the sanding and buffing and didn't go so well. It did made the area smooth but it made the area little dull. you got any picture? Let see how big this rock chip is..

I don't have a pick. It's not really big, I will ask the dealership when I go in. if they replace it cool, if not, I can live with it for now anyways. As far as the little surface scratches on the headlights, I tried using KIT'S Scratch out. I then went out and got some Meguiars PLASTX. That seemed to work a little better. Most of them are gone. I'm assuming that it's inevitable for the headlight lenses to stay surface scratched free.

If your lens is plastic, which I think it is, I dont think it can be epaired via traditional glass chip methods. Spend the $50.00 and cover it with PPF! I resell Rockblockers products as well.....

Found this on the M5 board. I tried it on my 530 and got rid of 90% of the pits and scratches. It may be worth a try before you end up buying a new headlight lens. You may also need to do this to smooth out the pitted and clouded lens before using some form of rock blocker.
