RL Body work soft paint???

Hey guys,

I had some body work done to my car a few weeks ago. They repainted my hood, passenger-side fender, and blended in the passenger-side door and the driver-side fender.

I was looking at my car in my garage tonight under the garage light and noticed a couple indentations here and there. I rubbed my finger across the spots and got an idea to press into the paint with my nail. When I did, I noticed a indentation left behind. I confirmed this on a couple spots. The paint seems soft to me. I don't observe that on the remainder of the car where work was not done.

What does this mean? Shouldn't the paint and clear coat fully cured by now?

Thanks,
Paul

Acura OEM paint is soft in general but that does not mean you should be able to leave a fingernail mark in the finish. The spots you noticed may be areas that never cured properly. Take it back to the paint shop and have them fix it.

Or the body work underneath never cured ... As said above ... return it .. you might see bubbles down the road when its too late.

To repair this, what does that involve? Does that mean they will have to remove the paint, sand, re-paint, etc?

agreed. or the paint wasn't baked long/hot enough. to fix would usually mean, repainting the area/s.
