Repairing Etched Paint ... is it possible?

Hi guys,

I have little problem. I had bird dropping on my car after picking it up from the dealer that were baked on due to the heat. After I removed it, I noticed the paint was etched. I was wondering if anyone knew any ways that I could get the paint to look normal again. By normal I mean glossy like before the etching. Is that too much to hope for, I honeslty don't even mind paying a detailer to do it. But I was just wondering is it even possible to repair this?

Thanks in advance.

Absolutely! Any professional detailer can buff them out with a compounding polish and buffer. I just washed my wifes black Lexus today and was pissed to see a couple bird bombs had etched her paint as well. I had an old bottle of NuFinish scratch x or something and decided to give it a try before busting out the Buffer. I hit them with 3-4 applications rubbed by hand and I'd say 95% of the etching was removed. I'm about due for my annual full Polish on the car anyway so I'll get the remaining 5% out when I buff it. Bottom line is yes they can be removed! Whatever you do, do not go to some cheap chain car wash detailer or car dealership detail shop! THey will most likely hack up your car and make it look worse. Find someone reputable if you do not want to do it yourself. Good Luck!
