To repaint or not repaint?

I have a black '01 CL-S. Because of the fucking road construction everywhere in Dallas/Grand Prairie/Arilington, my nose and hood are pitted and scratched. Looks awful. There are other miscellaneous scratches along the sides of my car. Some are deep (to the primer) and others are just pits. I don't mind re-painting but are there any other suggestions before I pop for almost 3 grand?

Also, does anyone know of a good shop in the Arlington/Ft. Worth area I might go to? I actually heard that Goodson Acura in Irving is excellent. Any help is appreciated.

Its all up to you. Are u gonna be driving in the same areas, possibly risking the same damage? If so, i'd say no. Also, are u selling it any time in the foreseeable future or keeping it for life? If u're gonna sell it, i wouldnt repaint it, actually kills the resale value. If its a lifer, give her a new coat.

Wow...didn't know that! Hate to sound stoopid, but why would repainting a car (done right, of course...not some Earl Scheib job) make you lose it's value? Thanks again.

Shows that the car has been through some bad spots. Getting your paint chipped up will make any car more likely to rust. My guess is it just hints that the car had been a little beat up prior. Maybe i'm wrong...
