My situation must be different. On the telephone, Patrick suggested use of something other than Duragloss AquaWax over 4*UPP, and I was asking for slickness over depth. Tell ExcelDetail what you want, and I'm not going to second guess. The Duragloss AquaWax is more robust than the QD I bought, and is not a QD, just easy to apply
Whatever, this kit is where everybody is, just not me at present

Hmmmmmm...........let me clear up the confusion as I think i see it.
My recommendations to fellow enthusiasts is as follows:
NRWS/or traditional washes as you see fit.
After every wash, with the exception of one, (be it the beginning of the month or middle or end) during the dry cycle, use a quick detailer, such as Optimum ID&GE, or SC Hot Rod (Or your favorite, the preceding two are by far my fav's).
Once monthly, instead of using a QD, go with a spray wax. (Four Star Ult. Spray Wax, Optimum Spray Wax, Duragloss AquaWax) These are not QD's but offer a QD finish, just more durable. They do not have the lubricating factors that QD's do, as the purposes are different.
The purposes of each:
QD's offer instant slickness and gloss with short term protection, no more the 10-14 days when exposed to the elements. They also offer significant lubrication to remove very light dust deposits, safely. Also great for fingerprints and oil smudges.
Spray waxes offer additional protection to sealants already applied. Sort of a protective barrier atop your base protection. Obviously offering twice the protection as a QD as they contain polymers and/or nuba waxes. Can be used while surfaces are still wet (but clean), or dry for greater concentration.
