Quick and easy??

Mine is due for its first wash. I'm not a wash & wax fanatic so I just need some suggestions to get it done quickly but do a decent job. The car is garaged so it's not subject to the environment unless the car is being driven.

Can I just wash and dry it since its fresh from factory?
When should I think about waxing or polishing?
What kind of products are we using for the stock rims?

Sorry for sounding like a total idiot. I normally use a brushless wash place but since its a new car I might as well give it some pampering ... for now anyways.

This is probably the best time for you to lay down some decent protection for your finish. The earlier you establish a good layer of protection on the finish, the longer your finish will stay like that. The dealer just puts down cheap water based diluted waxes and polish when they do the PDI, nothing serious enough for the finish anyway. Your finish has cured long enough as well.

Using this same thought, I did this to a friend's brand new 2004 TSX in SSM the first day he picked it up.

-Claybar (Mother's)
-Klasse AIO
-Klasse Sealant Glaze (3 coats spaced 24 hours apart)
-Meguiar's Professional Hi-Tech Yellow Wax (every 3-4 weeks up to now)

This formula worked great since I tried it on my own car (except I use P21S as a Carnauba topper) that has the same color and his finish looked as good as it was when we first worked on it.

Use Eagle One Wax As U Dri spray wax in between coats of the HTYW after washes and the slickiness will ALWAYS be there.

As far as rims, I don't use anything more than the leftover soap on the bucket after I finish soaping the car.

And avoid any car washes as much as you can. It lessen the aggravation from those mysterious scratches that shows up on the finish.

If your car is new and since you say you're not fanatical about detailing, you can probably get away with just:

1) Wash
2) Claybar
3) Sealant/Wax (however many coats you want)

This routine doesn't take long at all, and you can probably just lay down one coat of wax. A few more layers will last longer obviously. It's quick and looks great.

F21 wax...

I'd recommend you use F21 wax from Turtle wax, I don't know what color paint you have, but on black I have had good results I recommend you use it, specially now they are having buy 3 get 1 free.
