Potential treatment

I'm discussing with one of the detailers I found on this forum what exactly I want done.. but the problem is I dont' know shit about detailing besides my 3 -5 step zaino care i do for my own car by hand. Which I always do in straight lines that go with the body ( I.E. Up and down no matter where i'ms tanding on the car and from front to rear on roof ) I do this washing and drying.. Here are a few pictures What do you think is needed? Also what do I request in terms of evening out the Touch up paint on the front of my vehicle..

This is uneven touch up paint

this is a rock chip on my hood which actually raised the metal and i tried to cover it with touch up and i failed..

More paint pictures.. i tried to keep it to a minimum lolol

Nice ass TSX you got there..wish I could help..I can't really help, I just know that whomever is going to do it, should be able to articulate what the process will be to get it to where you want it to be.

Nice TSX buddy, the paint still look Great (for being a black car), I’m guessing a light polish will take care of most of the spider webs. As for the touch up, stick with your day job

You don't go by another alias do ya? :detective

Touch-ups:

Take some sand paper (very high grit, like 2000) and a sanding block and sand down the touchup until level with the surrounding paint. ALWAYS check progress and go SLOW! For ones in the future, use a Toothpick and dip it into the jar of paint, then take out and place into the chip. Capillary action will automatically fill the chip with the right amount of paint to make it look good!

SWIRLS:
Swirls will happen, grit can get caught in the wash mitt, be sprayed onto the car with the water you use, or just from the rain and sandblasting that occurs during driving. Every time you touch the paint, you will undoubtedly make a mark on the paint, visible or not.

Use some optimum polish on an orange pad and it should get it out

mm so I should invest in a power tool myself huh? lol and I JUST polished the car a month ago. naturally I do everything in straight lines like i said.. to avoid swirls so I don't know how I still got swirls on it must be from the rain you weer speaking of, theres been a lot.. Or maybe the one or two times I let the dealership wash my car with out thinking :'(

Tish,
It doesn't look too bad! my compliments in taking the time to wash your car properly and care for it. Those swirls easily could have come from the 2 dealership car washes or your drying method? You may get away with a light 1 step "Polish", Im thinking Menzerna 106fa. If you want show car results it may need a 2 step polish?

The paint touch ups can be wetsanded down or I have Lanka Blob remover (removes too much of the touch up paint in my opinion but can be good for the DIY'rs who blob the heck out of it ha..ha..ha..!)

haha well i dry my car exactly the same way I wash and wax.. Straight lines up and down From windshield to bumper and from window to ground, then from front to back on the roof. Takes hella time to accomplish Typically takes me about 2 or 3 hours to wash my car.. but it always looks good. The touch up paint the pen part of the applicator stopped working so I had to use the brush.. and of course i was riding the fail boat the first time i slapped the brush on there cause I thought i had wiped most of the paint off.. yeah well i was wrong..

So I'll have this detailer do a 2 step polish and wet sand my hood? scary.. but thats what it needs?

Now am I suppose to bring my products ( zaino ) to the detailer or do they supply there own product included in the price?

definitely not comfortable doing major paint work to it myself.. I can do a light hand polish and a sealant and some gloss enhancer.. but thats about all I got in me..

Detailers will provide their own products unless you want to bring your own and have that specific product used. I know Zaino people can be pretty possessive about the use of only Zaino products. What ever works for ya!

So I got the paint removed from the left side of my car ( road paint ) and the body shop left swirls all over the paint.. Is that irreversible? Or is it possible to get these swirls out.. I don't really want to take it back to them in fear they'll just put more in the paint..

tish,
you took your TSX to a bodyshop to remove road paint?? good grief man! I thought you were having bodywork done. Short answer is yes the swirls that they implemented can be removed.

yeah well I didn't want to do it myself becuase I didn't want to leave swirls.. guess lesson learned.. they ended up replacing a lot of parts on the car straight up though and only removing the paint off the fenders and doors.. but the side skirt was replaced and the fender liners were replaced... ugh
So now i'm in dire need of a good detailing :'( lol
