I have noticed tiny pit marks on my hood. I guess that these are coming from pebbles kicked up by other vehicles.

What is the best way to touch these up? They are tiny, but noticeable when detailing. They are not down to the metal, but they are certainly annoying. What should be done differently if they were down to the metal?
