I get a lot of email, PM's from this forum and many others asking "What do I do to keep my car pristine?"
I always ask first if they have a PC, because ultimately, thats where one starts true detailing and car care. (In my opinion) Unless its a garage or show queen. Then a little hand work every now and then is probably suffice.
Well Wash and Waxers, lets take a quick pole as to the level of intelligence one needs, to master a PC!

I can use a cordless drill (and could probably install crown molding if I tried). A PC is something that I'd like to try, I am just afraid that I'd screw it up somehow. A small piece of sand or something gets in there and bam, your paint is crap.
I am very happy doing it by hand, but know that, if done correctly, a PC will make it damn near perfect.

i gave the PC to my uncles 13 yr old son and he did a really good job. He can operate a drill, but needs to learn the crown moulding. Anyway, i used the pc and it is pretty straight forward. Just choose the speed, put on right pads and add wax and let the machine do the work. I didn't worry about sand or anyother stuff, i did it in my garage with the door open.

I think to use it you need to know how to use a cordless. I think to use it well, consistently, on many different finishes, you might need to be able to use a cordless drill to actually hang a picture.
