pc and old udm...

i always thought that the udm was the stronger motor with its 4 amp vrs the pc 3.7....i went on the pc website and they list the 7424 as 4amps....i just thought that was interesting, so the new udm or the old pc with the udm sticker should be the same power as the old udm...

i had udm/perfect shine swap out my udm for a pc....too many udm's going tits up and all, i thought i would take a proactive approach to this before my warranty runs out....

thats cool, i just saw that, i didnt know the udm was 4.2, but never the less, the udm is just too prone to failure, and the machines are just too simular minus the failure rate of the udm.....

You notice the power difference more on vertical surfaces .. the PC is easy to stop the ossilations even up on 5 where the UDM just kept on going.

yea, i havent noticed that probably due to never having to apply much pressure to remove tougher swirls...i have only done my own cars which usually have very light and mild swirling....when i polish, i use only enough pressure to keep it firmly planted, i guess if doing tougher stuff you would use more pressure and probably notice the difference....

Im on my second UDM. I really beat the crap out of the first one, and the spindle finally gave up on me. But the PC of older gen's just doesnt even come close to the UDM. I havent tried the newer UDM/PC so cant really comapre. Too bad the original didnt work out for its maker. I just wish he would have put a little more R&D into it.....

U have had 2 replaced so far with the old one at the same build date. I guess thats thier way of depleting thier old stock.. in hopes the replacement won't fail.

So far I have had brush and speed switch issues and I have managed to keep 2 running by sacrificing the third.

Changing out the brushes and switch is very easy .. too bad they don't have spare parts available ... its only 1 Phillips screw to pull the tail end off.
