Paint on my car
Paint on my car
ok ok...someone spilled a whole bucket of white paint all over the road...i couldn't avoid it....so when i got home..i saw paint all over the side of my car...i managed to spray some of it off..but there are still paint on it... now from what i read... using a CLay Bar is the way to remove something that's stuck to ur car... Can someone tell me if this is the way to remove the paint off my car?? Thanks
Yep. Grab a clay bar (and if it doesn't come with lubricant), a quick detailer, or use some soap and water in a spray bottle. Lubricate the area really well and just glide the clay over the paint (no pressure required). It might take a few passes to get all the paint, but it should come off.
Good luck.
Good luck.
If its fairly fresh, which i think it is, you can also try some mineral spirits or 3M tar/adhesive remover. Clays works well also, but is better suited for smaller problematic situations. Its really designd as a overspray type of product. Always clean, polish and seal after using clay or any type of product designed to remove paint/tar/adhesive etc.....
I had a similiar situation when I crossed over a bridge, while I was driving on it they must have been painting high above. To make a long story short, the entire car was covered with small silver splashes. I used bug and tar remover, it worked really well, first I washed the car then rubbed in the remover then quickly washed the car again to make sure all of the remover was off. Good Luck
