Optimum No Rinse on white paint

I recently bought this and tried on 00 integra and 09 RDX. It really works well on integra, but not on RDX. It's leaving some black streaks when I wipe it off with MF. I had to put extra efforts to wipe off the streaks on RDX. The surface felt little rough compare to integra as well.

BTW, I'm using genuine sheepskin and MF for washing and drying. Both cars are white in color.

I have used it on my WDP TL with no issues .. you say it feels rough? Paint need claying? Maybe some kind of fallout on the RDX.

Is claying on new car paint usually necessary? I never did that on integra in 9 years and it still shines better than brand new RDX. I only hand polished once a year and waxed it whenever I feel like it. Perhaps, made (painted) in Japan vs. U.S issue?

Claying is used to remove imbeded contaminats off the paint making the surface smooth . The smoother it is the better the reflection.

Every car I have had i have clayed right off the lot and at least every spring.

Take some Saran wrap and put it over your hand and run your hand over the paint .. you will feel how rough it is .. on both cars.

As for the paint feeling different, I would say it has to do with where it had been stored prior to your purchase. Its not the subtle differences in the paint itself as much as it is to the environment with which its been in.
Sounds like clay is in order for the 09, and perhaps the Integra as well!

I think both of your cars need to be clayed. Also, if you're experiencing streaking, it means the towel you're using to dry your vehicle is too wet/damp. You'll get better results if you make another pass with a dry towel or just always use a dry towel in general.

As for drying, I used two MF towels, one for the initial drying and the other one for second pass. I used the same towels on integra after RDX and I did not have any streaking issues on integra paint. I guess I need to try the clay later on.

Thanks for your inputs folks
