Optimum No Rinse soap - question.

Hello,

I finally got around to ordering the Optimum No Rinse Car Soap from Patrick. Anyway, I had a few questions before I attempt to use it.

1. How do you wash the wheels tires with this stuff? Do you do those last, and then use the wash mitts and waffle weave to dry them (like you did for the rest of the car?)

2. Where is the best place to start on the car - the roof and then work your way down to the rims/tires?

3. How long does it usually take you to wash a car using this stuff?

4. Do you add the Optimum BEFORE you put the water into the bucket? Will the Optimum get very sudsy?

Well, I think that should do it. Thanks for all of your help, guys!

Jeff

P.s. Does the Optimum leave any kind of a film on the windows/windshield at all?

I usually do the wheels first with the sprayer! I will use a wheel cleaner if necessary, then rinse with the NRWS. Re-wet after the following set of steps, then dry.

2. Where is the best place to start on the car - the roof and then work your way down to the rims/tires?
Highest point to lowest point. If weather permits, you can do the entire car before drying. However, Spring and Summer are quickly approaching So Cal.!
My suggestion?
Rd 1: Roof and windows, dry.
Rd 2: Hood, rear deck, dry.
Rd 3: Doors, dry.
This works well for me when it warms up as each subsequent step is re-wetted.

3. How long does it usually take you to wash a car using this stuff?
15 minutes

4. Do you add the Optimum BEFORE you put the water into the bucket? Will the Optimum get very sudsy?
Zero sudz........before or after is irrelevant.

Well, I think that should do it. Thanks for all of your help, guys!

You will find an indescribable "something". Nothing visible, but the wipers function better!

Ok, I'm retarded, but I still don't get what Pat means by his explanation on cleaning the wheels. Do I put Optimum in the sprayer too?

How do you know when you've added enough Optimum if there are no suds?

Lastly, is it safe to be drying your rims with the same waffle weave towel u would use to dry the cars paint?

Sorry guys!

It's all good.

Actually I don't use my waffle weave on the rims...

I use an old terry towel I don't care for anymore.

I save my nice waffle weave for my car.

And there are no suds...this product doesn't have those "sudsy" properties.

Do not expect suds...it just won't happen.

I usually run the hot water about a gallon and then pour in ONRW and continue to fill the 2nd gallon.

I just think it incorporates better...but probably makes no difference.

You can put the ONRW into a sprayer for a "pre-treatment"

Let it sit on there for a bit to work it's magic.

Same is true if your car's paint was dirtier then average...

LMAO Jeff..........Your not retarded, juts misinformed....
I clean the wheels with the sprayer and a wheel cleaner. The wheel cleaner is only used if needed, otherwise I spray the wheels down, agitate with a soft brush, then rinse the dirt off. Then I do the entire car. When I do the car, theres a good chance that debris from the car, while washing, falls onto the wheels. So after Im done NRWS the car (before drying) I will re-rinse the wheels. Then dry. As for what to dry the wheels with, a WW is fine if you have an extra one, otherwise use a MF....
