ONR and winter

We're getting below freezing temperatures here in Vancouver, and I'm looking forward to washing my car with ONR when it gets here tomorrow. However, there's some road salt on my car after a storm yesterday and I'm unsure as to whether I need to pre-rinse before I wash (not a possibility because the water is shut off for the winter). Would I be looking at a lot of paint damage without pre-rinsing, or can I go ahead with just two wash buckets + ONR?

No doubt pre rinse first. The less salt there is on the body, the less risk you have scratching/marring.

Check out Steve's post: https://acurazine.com/forums/wash-wax-23/season-2-nrws-700782/

All you need is a regular 1 gallon sprayer you can pick up a the hardware store. You already have the ONR. You should be set to go.

Forgive me for asking a stupid question, but Im a suburban dweller in So Cal. Your water is just shut off outside right?
I agree with the above statement referencing using a spritzer. Its night and day protection/safety.

Just outside, but it means I wouldn't be able to hose it off without the sprayer like you guys suggested. I'll go pick one up and give you guys the verdict after the car is washed.

So I washed the car today but didn't get a chance to pick up the sprayer (they didn't have it in stock?) so I sprayed the car down with a spray bottle instead.

It was a good wash, but I thought I picked up way too much dirt with my MF. I guess I just need more water pressure so I can loosen the dirt properly?

When you say MF you mean the drying towel?

Hmm, perhaps it's your technique. Your washing media is supposed to get rid of all the dirt, etc. You might not be rinsing enough between panels.

Just used ONRWS for the first time today and have to say that it is a very impressive product. I live in the northeast and haven't been able to wash my car outside for the past month. We just had a pretty good storm and there was salt and crap all over it, not heavy, but enough of a film to look pretty dull. The car came out as good as it does using Megs gold class in a regular wash outside during the summer.

It's a bit of a weird experience because you think you are going to scratch the car, wiping dirt with a microfiber and some water, but there are no visible scratches at all.
What was very interesting was how dirty the microfiber was that I was using to wipe w/ONR, yet the MF I used to dry it off was perfectly clean. All of the dirt wound up in the bucket or on the MF. It worked great on the rims as well. Highly recommend it.

Here's how I used it.

1. Filled 1 gallon sprayer with water and 1 oz of ONR
2. Filled a bucket with 1 gallon of water and 1 oz of ONR.
3. SPrayed the ONR on a section of the car
4. Used a MF soaked from the bucket and wiped the car
5. Dried it with a MF
6. Moved to next section.

Entire RL took about 30 minutes.

The bucket has to be dumped, but there is more than half of the sprayer still full, probably can use it on three more cars.

Wow! Another impressive example of what NRWS can do for you. Welcome to the NRWS users club! It really is astounding what Optimums No Rinse Wash and Shine has done for thousand of its users. I have yet to hear of one example where NRWS didn't live up to its reputation.
For those of you who live back east or in the midwest, this is just another prime example of a customers satisfaction, as well as a well layed out plan for cleaning the cars surface when the elements say otherwise.

Pictures would have been even sweeter!!
