ONR and my sponge

I've been using ONR for almost a month now and I am completely satisfied with the product. I use the Cobra Bone sponge with my ONR. What I have noticed is that the 2 gallons of water mixed with an oz of ONR is sometimes not enough for my car. I actually have to create more solution to clean my wheels and tires. Am I absorbing too much solution with my sponge? Should I just dip my sponge into the ONR solution and not let the sponge absorb all of the ONR? The sponge absorbs a TON of water.

Do you use a rinse bucket?

ONR's kind of a pain to use for me. I know a lot of people swear by it, but I find it takes longer to wash the car, and you need a ton of wash mitts and drying towels.

Switch to a sheepskin mitt with the ONR. You won't use as much solution.

+1.
Sounds like most of your solution is winding up on the ground.

What are you using to wash and dry? As noted before, you should be good with just a sheepskin mitt and maybe 2 drying towels. I got my ONR process down to almost half the time it takes me to do a normal wash. Once you find your rhythm and set process...it's way easier IMO

hmmm...do you have a dedicated bucket and mitt/sponge for your wheels?

For washing, I use the Cobra "The Bone" microfiber wash sponge.

It is inexpensive and I really like it. I bought another one last week.

My drying towel is the Cobra Supreme Guzzler Waffleweave Towel:
http://www.autogeek.net/cobra-waffle-weave.html

This towel is absolutely amazing. This is the only towel I use and it wipes all the water off my 2010 Acura TSX. When I finish drying the entire car, no water comes out of it even if I wring it hard.

Maybe I am just going back to the rinse bucket too often. I usually soak up my sponge twice with ONR solution for each panel.

MD03CL: Yes, I have a dedicated bucket for my wheels. I actually bought brushes for my OEM wheels but I did not find them to be very good. I now just use the Target brand Vroom white and gray microfiber towels to clean my wheels (with ONR).

Two bucket method, one sheepskin mitt and one MF mitt, and a plush MF drying towel, about 1.5 feet by a foot.

My main problem is that the drying towel gets fairly saturated after only a few panels, and wringing it out doesn't help much, and I can't get the rest of the car dry.

I haven't used ONR very much, I'm only about 1/4 through my first bottle. Probably washed with it 7 or 8 times.

buy that waffleweave towel by cobra i linked in my previous post.

YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT! I actually bought the smaller version of it last week because it is so good(I'm psychotic yes). You only just need one but I wanted another.

I'm going to buy a waffle weave tomorrow from a local shop. Don't think it's cobra, but I think any waffle weave will do. Might even buy two...

My girlfriend has a 2011 Graphite Luster Acura TSX.

I have a 2010 Crystal Black Pearl Acura TSX.

My dad washed my car for the first eight months and he completely destroyed my car. It's covered with swirl marks. It is only noticeable up close but my heart breaks everytime I think about it. I started washing my car a month ago using ONR. Because my car already had so many swirl marks, I was not sure if ONR would cause any marring to the paint.

BUT

My girlfriend bought her car 3 months ago and the first time her car ever got a wash was today by me using ONR. ONR is completely safe if the wash and dry media is high quality. My girlfriend's car has 0 swirl marks and scratches after I washed her car.

Aman, trust me, Cobra is serious business. I also have the Cobra Miracle Towels and they are completely lintless. I have used meguiar's high quality MF towels and the difference is night and day when compared to Cobra MF towels.

If you are up for it, give these a shot. Softer than the towel I dry off after showering with...

Quick question....Can an ONR be used as a regular wash, where you rinse the car too?

I wasn't expecting ONR, but I figure I'll use it as a regular wash if will work.

I don't see why not Seems like you're adding an unnecessary step, though. If I had a hose and ONR, I'd rinse before wash but not after.
