holy bmw clear is hard stuff. Like, Viagra overdose hard.

Orange pad with PC on 6, my hands are getting numb and there are STILL some faint scratches left behind. They aren't throughout, so I don't think they are marring from my polishing. I may need to just use some steel wool...

I got it figured out, though.

Lots of pressure on an orange pad and it gets it 99% there.

Ahoy, Geofford....

When you see these fine scratches left behind are you seeing them when you've got a halogen lamp pointed at the car?

Not fine scratches either, just some stubborn ones that look like they are from an improper wash/dry. They don't catch a fingernail when I run one over it, but neither polishing nor Scratch-X by hand remove them completely.

I am OK with them, honestly. I am probably the only person who will notice them, and I have to look 'just right' to see most of them.

Today, quick wash and then Blackfire.

Blackfire is on.

I have to say... Meh. Maybe I need to put a few more coats on (put on with PC and gray pad), but honestly I thought it would be more amazing.

I see little if any difference between it and Klasse SG.

HOWEVER, one main difference is the ease of removal. Buffing out SG by hand is an Olympic sport. The Blackfire came off so easily it was, dare I say, fun.

I will top it with Natty's Blue for now, while it's cool here in AZ. Summer will be 845IW.

The Optimum Hyper Polish, though, was AWESOME! I probably should have also ordered the Compound (or maybe some wool pads per Portland's suggestion on BMW clear), but the HP was super easy to use. FTR, used on a PC with orange LC pad at #6 with moderate to heavy pressure.

I had used regular Optimum polish in the past, and while the work time was good, I felt like there were way too many oils in the mixture making cleanup a pain. The HP spray was perfect. Great work time, easy cleanup. I will say, and maybe this is because I worked it hard and long (giggity) that it eventually dusted, but not a ton.

Patrick, the OHP is a winner. Great recommendation.

Lately I've really liked using Megs Hot Shine foaming tire shine. It cleans and shines in one step. I apply it, let it sit, and wipe the tires really well. Wiping well removes dirt/dust, and sorta dulls the shine, so its not too shiny. It doesn't last that long compared to other products, but I find more frequent use helps to keep the tires looking clean. Now if you have super dirty tires, the cleaning ability is not enough, but for regular use it helps keep the tires clean.

Just washed and dried.

about to put the second coat of Blackfire on. I thought the first coats was 'ok' but nothing amazing (prefer Klasse SG for single coat) but I have heard that layering BF is better. We shall see...

OK, second coat is on...

I let this one sit unbuffed for about 45 minutes before removing it.

I will wait until I can see it out in the sun before I decide.

Dunno what the temps are in AZ, but you could probably leave it on a little longer Just be glad you have some sun to check it out in

Anybody have experience with "World's Best Wax"? They have a booth at the AutoShow here, and I was thinking of trying it out. Guy demonstrated some on a Gallardo, the results were pretty damn nice. But then again, it was a swirl-free Lamborghini under show lights

Apparently it's "100% carnuba by volume", but only something like 46% in actuality either way, it was one of those waxes that could only do one panel at a time.

For those of you who have, how does it compare to say, AutoGlym HD?

Well, two coats of the blackfire bead nicely. I know this because it's pouring right now and I was out.

Anyway, next up will be to top it with Natty's Blue and see if I like that, or go a different route. There is nothing WRONG with the BF, just nothing astounding about it to me either...

Hey guys, just a quick question coming from a beginner. I was about to order some polishes but I'm confused about which one to go with, I have a black tl and it has about light to medium swirls and couple of light scratches. I have heard good things about menzerna polish and as well as optimum. Soo question is, which one would you guys recomend?

-Thanks in advance

I just used the optimum polish in the spray bottle and it was SUPER easy to work with.

This stuff: https://acurazine.com/forums/showpos...7&postcount=24

You have a PC or some machine or are you planning to do this by hand?

^^ I definitely plan on picking up the Optimum Hyper Polish within the next month or so.

If you had to do it all over again, would you have went with the Hyper Compound as well? I'm trying to think if I should get them both.

Yeah, just for those few areas that the HP didn't cut through on an orange LC pad on BMW clear coat. If you have an Acura, though, you can affect the clear coat just by looking at it... For the cost, why not, but you probably won't need it if you have orange pads and softer paint.

I saw a restored '55 Oldsmobile Holiday that had the most AMAZING paint job. It wasn't tacky or anything and was a repaint of the factory red and gray two-tone that was so smooth it was like a mirror. I've never seen anything like it. If the repaint is recent, somebody likely broke their back wetsanding the hell out of it, praying that somebody might notice. Well I did and can only say bravo!

According to the classic car dealer that was selling it, over $100,000 went into restoring that car.

The only way to get rid of orange peel is a complete wet sanding huh? But then again unless you get through the clear coat it won't do much huh? Guess you'd have to sand it to the paint and then get a new clear coat huh?

Or you spray the car with clear, and then wetsand. Not a paint pro, but it might be feasible. That way you don't affect the base paint at all.

But from what I've seen, smooth paint makes defects more visible.

Well, it's a lease, so no wetsanding...

OK, Klasse SG applied to and removed from the wheels... (I love the wheels, but hate all the crevices! My hand aches from buffing the SG out...)

Natty's Blue is on the car and hazed. Time to remove it!

Any of you blokes tempted to pick up a jug of car wash soap at Costco may find your favorite Meguires Gold class replaced with Turtle Wax Gold Series soap.

DO NOT FALL FOR IT.

The stuff is garbage. Mater of fact, I am returning the jug tomorrow. No lubricity and the only suds were the ones on top of the bucket. Nothing on the mit when I put it to the car paint.

Garbage.

Pick up some Chemical Guys. Any of there stuff is gonna be top notch.
The Wash & Clear I have is super lube-y. I stripped my car yesterday and it felt like nothing was touching the car. I presoaked the ar it in, then washed. Granted, since I was stripping it, there was an extra good helping of shampoo in there, but still. Incredible stuff. As is the Wash&Gloss from what I hear.

Flaky like it would make plans and then not show up or flaky like it made a powdery mess?

How does it look after application though?
