NXT vs. Turtle Wax

The the NXT tech stuff really that much better? It's 6 times more expensive then the turtle wax. In Canada, the NXT tech sells for $30 while the Turtle wax only goes for $5 a bottle.

Also, what's the difference between the paste and the liquid? What's better?

I thought NXT only came in liquid form?

Anyway, there's no difference b/w paste & liquid forms of wax. I used to use turtle wax back in the day, but I use NXT now. In my opinion, it's a lot easier to apply (partly because it's liquid and it's easy to measure out exactly how much you want to apply) and easier to take off. It also lasts longer and has a bit of polish in it.

I'm guessing most people are going to say screw turtle wax and stick w/ NXT. Really though, try both of them out. If you don't think it's worth the extra $, then stick to the cheaper stuff... it's not going to hurt your car!

Do half your car in each and decide which you like better.

Penquin, NXT now comes in a paste. No difference betwen them. As far as which product is better - you have to decide for yourself. If you like the results of one over the other, ...... Just remember, you need to prepare the surface of the vehicle i.e. remove contaminents and swirls, otherwise it's all for nothing.

NXT is great for dark color car. I have a '02 NBP TL-S and it make color much deeper. I don't think it lasts very long compare to like Nufinish.

NXT is a glaze, it's a polymer based sealant. Glazes last anywhere from 4-12months under normal conditions, while carnuba's last a few weeks. If you get a good carnuba wax like Klasse, Zaino or Pinnacle and top it off with two layers of glaze that will make all the difference. I agree prep the surface or the finish will suffer. Rule of thumb is wash, clay, polish, carnuba, carnuba, glaze, glaze, perfect! NXT is a much higher grade glaze than turtlewax and will produce better results. Plus its easier to use and smells great too!

Visit Top of the Line, Autopia or Proper Auto Care for detailing supplies. There are a number of companies that have detailing clay, I usually use ClayMagic and recently purchased Blackfire Poly Clay. Currently using NXT and will be using Blackfire when I run out of it. I have a jar of S100 carnuba wax (supposedly same as the P21S Carnuba at half the price).

Ummmmm, no...NXT is a Polymer sealant with swirl filling attributes, but should not be used for glaze purposes. Typical glazes, if left exposed, will last about 1 week, if that. Carnaubas (Klasse and Zaino are NOT Carnaubas, there acrylics/Polymers) typically last about 4 weeks, top's., Collonite, 16, 26 may sustain longer protection periods. Glazes are Petroleum fillers, anything with processed petroleum also has cleaning abilities, therefore you would never want to add a glaze to a sealed surface. Why? Because it will remove or minimize your protection.
My rule of thumb: (Prep shows Pride)
Wash
Clay
Polish (This includes SMR, and/or cleaning)
Glaze (If necessary, desired)
Seal
Wax (If desired)

NXT is a great product as it makes the car paint very shiny and wet looking. However the only draw back is it is very expensive compare to other brands and after 4-5 car washes it seems that you need to wax the car again. So it does not last for a very long time like some other wax brands.

expensive? It's $14 a bottle and a bottle will do a good 30 waxes

You'd die when I tell you I have products that are almost $100 a bottle

It may be $14 a bottle where you live but up here in Canada is $30 cdn a bottle which works out to be around $26 a bottle. It is expensive in terms of comparing other brand Waxes.

It is recommended to polish/wax after using the claybar. You can check out Autopia's How To Clean With Clay and it will have answers to your question.

I disagree. even on the same product, the liquid form contains more petroleum distillates which gives the product it's "squeezability" and allows it to be spread easier. The paste form is still better IMO.
